  •  Charles Darwin, set sail on the HMS Beagle. On his voyage he kept detailed notes of the his observations and theories. A copy was sent to his family. His job on the HMS beagle was to be a naturalist. These observations and theories would help him come up with the theory of evolution.

Darwin’s Conclusion.

  • Parents pass along their genes to their offspring
  • Individual organisms with advantages in their environment have a higher likelihood of passing their genes to the next generation, a phrase that sums this up is Survival of the Fittest
  • Individual organisms that do not posses those advantages have a lower likelihood of passing their genes and subsequently have a higher chance of dying out.
