Vocab

• Haploid Cells – 1 set of chromasomes (Sex Cells)
• Diploid – 2 sets of chromasomes (body cells)
• Autosomes the 1st 22 pairs that determine who you are.
• Fertilization – fusion of sperm and egg.

Meiosis

• Same steps as Mitosis, but occurs twice producing 4 cells (not identical but unique)
• Crossing Over – Chromasomes can sometimes become entangled when chrosing over each other causing something similar to translocation.

Chromosomal Pairs

• Autosomes – The first 22 chromsome pairs, they make up who you are or your traits
• Sex Chromasomes – 23rd pair, they determine your sex
