- Said to have begun by Galileo and Kepler
- Started 17th century.
- Ended with Newton
- Based on observation rather than practical tests.
Reasons for Scientific Revolution
- rise in Universities, therefore more access to information via books
- Increased connectivity (via trade) to middle east and such places with more advanced technolgies in medicine
- Renaissance (secularism and humanism)
- Exploration (more ideas and beliefs)

- Using reason to justify knowledge rather than tradition.
- Descarte, known French philosopher.

- That experence is the only true source of knowledge

- Help lead the way to the scientific method
- Sir Francis Bacon (laid the groundwork for scientific method)

- GeoCentric, says the earth is at the center of the universe
- HelioCentric, The sun is at the center of the universe.
Capernicus, Known for proving the sun is at the center rather than the earth.
