Genetics Biology 2.0

Codominance

  • When both traits are equally expressed, an example is a dog with black and white spots that create a new phenotype. (both dominant so it creates a new phenotype)

Incomplete dominance

  • Mixture of the 2 somwere between the phenotypes, an example is a dog with a gray color when its parents are white and black respectively. (Mixture in between both phenotypes.

Polygenic Inheritance

  • When a trait requires more than one gene. Soo brown and Brown can’t make brown without it being day. Soo it will be white even if the color is brown

Multiple Alleles

  • When their are more than 2 alleles, A, B, and I for on gene.

Linked Genes

  • Linked Genes can only be physically be split when crossing over during miosis

Sex Linked

  • Genes on the 23 pair or the chromasomes that are linked to sex
